I regularly add it to my nappy wash, husbands work shirts and linens wash, it helps the washing powder go that bit further and doesn't seem to irritate their skin like an extra scoop of washing powder would.
For spring cleaning I've used borax sprinkled on carpets, brushed in with the hoover (off) then hoovered off to help dry clean the carpets - I'm told this also deters fleas?
At christmas, when I was inundated with grubby pans, I used some borax in the dishwasher to help boost the dishwasher tablet. Not very traditional I know but my pans were clean.
I couldn't do without borax now, I'm sure there are many other uses but these are the ones that really work for me, hopefully you'll find it helpful too. |
