Original Pears Transparent Soap with the unforgettable fragrance.

Please note we still have stock of the Older formula of Pears' Soap in stock (produced Jan 2009). We wondered why the Supermarkets started selling it at a cheap price, and now we think we know why.  We have been told by many, many unsatisfied customers that the latest formula of Pears' Soap they have bought recently is quite different, and actually contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate! You can tell a new formula bar as the packaging is different, and the bar itself comes in a cellophane wrap. You can be assured our current stock of Pears' is the formula that DOES NOT contain SLS.

The soap from a company that produced many classic advertisements in the early 20th Century. Do you know of a Pears Soap baby lookalike?

Hypoallergenic, Non Comedogenic.

Pears Soap is a natural way to attain clean, healthy looking skin. It contains high quality skincare ingredients like glycerin and natural oils.

Pears Soap is especially made to take care of even sensitive and delicate skin, cleansing thoroughly, yet gently and rinsing clean. It is hypo-allergenic, contains a mild cleansing formula and no colourants. It is non-comedogenic, so it won't clog pores.

Each bar is mellowed and aged for three months until it reaches a pure transparancy. This special ageing process has been followed for nearly 200 years.

Death of Pears?,  28 Feb 2010

I have been using Pears for decades. I didn't need any for a while as I purchased so many bars when I was collecting the magents. However, I recently ran out. (On purchasing the new formula Pears' original available in supermarkets) I found the shape, colour, texture and smell are altered. The way it performed on my skin was just not Pears. I was concerned, so I checked the internet to see if anyone has suffered adverse problems with this new formula and was shocked to learn that the ingredients had doubled! More worrying is that all the added ingredients were nasty chemicals inc: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (washer fluid). Pears has been an icon for centuries so why do Unilever think it is a good idea to ruin it? You don't see Jack Daniels, Guinness, etc. changing their established formulas. Pears has been a top 10 selling grocery product for a very long time. If the opinions of their customers mean anything to Unilever they will revert otherwise they will surely lose customers, have their
