Brilliantine was invented at the turn of the 20th century by French perfumer Ed. Pinaud. He called it Brillantine and presented it to the world at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. It consisted of a perfumed oily liquid, uses are for softening hair, including beards and moustaches to give a well groomed, glossy appearance. Yardley Brilliantine comes well presented in a glass jar with a metal screw cap. An ideal addition for the well groomed gentleman.

I am so glad to find this excellent product here. I've been using it for many years and it's becoming very scarce to find in stores any more. Our local chemist used to stock it but since the Co-Op took it over, naturally, it's vanished from the shelves. So, well done Carbolic Soap Company. More power to your elbow.. I'll be back (trouble is it lasts so long, another reason for using it, lol).
