TERMS & CONDITIONS
Within these terms and conditions of sale, The Carbolic Soap Company shall be referred to as the “Vendor”, and the customer shall be referred to as the “Buyer”. These conditions shall supersede those published in any literature of prior date and may only be amended by specific agreement. Orders placed and accepted by the Buyer are deemed to be in accordance with these conditions, which shall take precedence over all Buyers conditions of purchase.
Please take note for Royal Mail: Royal Mail standard does not include insurance. By choosing this method for your delivery you understand and acknowledge it is your responsibility to make a claim if goods are lost or damaged in the mail. We offer Next Day Courier delivery which includes insurance and tracking as standard.
Quotations may be withdrawn at any time prior to acceptance of order. Advance payment may be required for goods obtained to special order. Specifications and prices are correct at time of print, but are subject to change without notification.
RETENTION OF TITLE:
Ownership of any goods supplied by the Vendor to the Buyer shall remain with the Vendor until payment is made in full. Furthermore, ownership of any such goods will continue to remain with the Vendor until the Buyer has paid all sums due on any other outstanding invoice. Until such payment is made, where the goods supplied are sold or passed on the Vendors Title is protected. These conditions do not impose a charge on any goods supplied but merely reserve Title on such goods for the benefit of the Vendor.
TERMS OF PAYMENT:
Credit Card, Debit Card and Paypal are all acceptable.
We want you to be delighted every time you shop with us so we make our returns policy very simple.
Our “no quibbles” guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase or your delivery doesn’t match your order just return it to us in its original unused condition within 14 days and we will issue a full refund for the price of the item.
Please note that for hygiene reasons we cannot refund opened unwrapped products.
We will also be happy to refund the delivery charge if the return is a result of our error.
To make a return please adhere to the following procedure:
1) Apply for a return by emailing email@example.com, including all information regarding your order – name, address, order number and reason for return. Please attach photos if the item is damaged.
2) Once the return is authorised please then send the package with details of your name, address, email address, telephone number to:

For your protection we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service or obtain a Proof of Posting certificate.
Please note that any product returned to us without prior authorisation (RMA number) will not be credited. You will have the option to have the goods returned to you at your expense, or have the goods disposed of by us. In either case a £5.00 inc. VAT administration fee will be charged.
GUARANTEE OF GOODS:
Goods are guaranteed to the extent of the guarantee, if any, of the manufacturer. This is in addition to your statutory guarantee. Claims under guarantee are limited to whatever amount, if any, is recoverable from the manufacturer under such guarantee.
Shortages or damage to goods during transit MUST be notified within 10 days of receipt of goods. In the event of non-delivery, notice must be given within 5 days, from the date of order. Please note that if you choose an Untracked or Uninsured method of delivery then the claim will have to be submitted to the carrier company yourself. We will be unable to assist with a claim if you do choose an uninsured method, and choosing an uninsured method is entirely at your own risk.
We aim to deliver UK deliveries around 3 to 5 working days after placing your order, but, can take up to 10 days, however please do allow for mitigating circumstances such as adverse weather conditions, etc. As our goods are heavy it is quite likely they will be sent by courier. Please ensure you are available to accept delivery Monday – Friday, 8 to 6PM as the couriers will require a signature. If you are not able to accept delivery at your home address we are able to deliver to your work address. If your goods are shipped back to us and have to be resent you will be liable for forwarding charges. There may be an additional delay if your order is out of stock, however we do try and despatch all orders as quickly as possible. The vendor reserves the right to ship partial orders if necessary and the Buyer hereby agrees to accept same.
If you require further clarification or wish to amend an order please email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your order number (not credit card transaction number). Christmas and other holiday periods will incur additional delivery time, please allow for this. We do have enhanced delivery options for UK & International customers which can be arranged. Whilst a very rare occurrence we reserve the right to contact you if the shipping method you have chosen is unavailable, or is not cost effective to ship via your chosen method. We will not charge any extra shipping without contacting you first and obtaining your permission.
Our carriage charges are based on weight and we offer Royal Mail & courier options.
Choosing to have your goods shipped via standard delivery (usually Royal Mail) is often the most cost effective way of having your goods delivered, and in our experience is extremely reliable, however a cost effective delivery solution does understandably have its limitations. During times of bad weather, public holidays or other factors that may put pressure on the postal system your goods may be delayed. Royal Mail standard terms and conditions apply to the delivery schedules, and claims for loss or damages are limited, and must be submitted in writing to them. Royal Mail standard delivery is an uninsured, and untracked service, and therefore you will not be able to track or trace your order, unless you request Royal Mail tracked. If you require your goods as soon as possible, or wish to track your order then please enquire about a courier delivery option.
Please note that undelivered parcels cannot have a claim made against them until 28 working days after the date of dispatch. We are unable to offer any refund or initiate a claim on undelivered parcels until the delivery company have deemed the parcel lost.
We despatch Monday – Friday.
We do not process or despatch on weekends or Bank Holiday, the order will be processed the next working day.
YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS ARE NOT AFFECTED IN ANY WAY
As with all products please exercise caution when using our products. When Carbolic Soap was invented most modern day surfaces and fabrics did not exist, and as this is a non specialist soap product that does not pretend to be 100% trialled, and most other products we sell are of the same era they have not been tested with these surfaces. Having said that, we have used these bars for many years and have never come up against any problems. Please test on an inconspicuous area to ensure it will not impair. The Carbolic Soap Company asks that you exercise caution with any products to ensure suitability of use. What may have worked for one person may not necessarily work for another. You are responsible for ensuring suitability.
